The lens construction features special glass and coatings so that astonishing image quality can be delivered over and over. Consisting of both XLD and LD elements, to correct and reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing for improved clarity and colour accuracy. Other elements include Tamrons BBAR coating that contributes to suppressing flare and ghosting from occurring leading to enhanced contrast when working in backlit and photographing in low-light conditions. Despite being the most portable and lightest lens around, it still delivers remarkable optical performance, an Autofocus drive system thats powered by the RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor unit that enables it to deliver extremely high-speed, and high-precision operation.
