This lens is a unique telephoto prime that is characterised by the beautiful bokeh effects, visual compression, and notable sharpness that is ideal for portraiture, landscape, and indoor sports events.
The Sigma 200mm f/2 DG OS Sports Lens features a unique focal length at 200mm, accommodating a variety of applications, including portrait, indoor and outdoor close-range sports, or for adding a compression effect when photographing landscapes. The surprisingly fast f/2 maximum aperture provides a shallow depth of field for selective focus effects. Furthermore, the f/2 aperture makes it easy to shoot in difficult lighting conditions while still shooting handheld.
The Sigma 200mm f/2 DG OS Sports Lens features two kinds of low dispersion glass elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing and accurate colour rendering. The optical design also reduces ghosting and flare with both Nano Porous and Super Multi-Layer Coatings applied. The unique focal length, bright design, and 11-blade rounded diaphragm all contribute to especially smooth bokeh effects.
The combination of high-speed, nimble focusing and image stabilisation makes this 200mm lens ideal for photographing and tracking fast-moving subjects. The high-thrust HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) quickly, smoothly and quietly moves the focusing group for accurate focusing. On the lens, you will also find a Focus Mode and Focus Limiter switch for further control of focusing speed and range for more control.
