The Sony FE 24mm f/1.4 Lens utilises special elements that include two XA (Extreme Aspherical) elements in the optical design in order to meet the necessary G Master requirements which contributes to its impressive high resolution throughout the image area, three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements are also incorporated to effectively overpower chromatic aberration. The lens is also light in weight which is all thanks to the newly developed DDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) focus drive system that Sony has merged in to achieve a remarkable weight of only 445g. Stand out features and specs of this compact GM lens now include a circular 11-blade diaphragm with a maximum f/1.4 aperture to create that beautiful bokeh; Easy de-click aperture ring; smooth and versatile operation which is all thanks to its focus hold button that can be customised to a secondary function; Nano AR coating to suppress internal reflections that can possibly lead to flare and ghosting; and lastly, the front element of the lens is fluorine coated in order to resist dust, fingerprints, water, oil and allows easy cleaning.
