The Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 Lens is specially designed for Sony E-Mount full-frame mirrorless lens interchangeable cameras. A close minimum focusing distance of 0.3m enables you to get up close to a subject. You will also be offered a constant f/4 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range making it ideal for walk-around applications.
The Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 Lens is well suited for both video or still applications due to the employment of a VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor providing quick, fast and accurate autofocus performance.
The Tamron 70-180mm is now outfitted with Vibration Compensation image stabilization, improved compatibility with high-speed and high-precision autofocus, plus support for the Tamron Lens Utility software and the Lens Utility Mobile app.
Additionally, in terms of physical design, the Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 Lens has a moisture-resistant design with a front fluorine coating that repels water, oil, dust and dirt from the glass elements making it easier to clean. It uses 67mm filters, just like most other Tamron mirrorless lenses.
